Tony Markulis passed away on September 10, 2022.
He was born on April 13, 1943 to the late Ruth and Dr. Emil Markulis. Tony was a lifelong humanitarian. After graduating from Canisius College in Buffalo, he joined the Peace Corps, spending 2 years in Ethiopia. Upon his return home he was drafted into the US Army and spent his next 2 years in Germany. He then enlisted in Diplomatic Service spending 4 years in the Congo and 2 years in Korea. Once returning to the US, he received his Fine Arts degree from RIT and became an Art Instructor for persons with disabilities. After retirement, he was able to focus on creating his beautiful garden.
Tony is survived by his siblings: Emil J. Markulis, Ruth Joan Shuttleworth, Peter Markulis and Carol McGowan; as well as 9 nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his siblings Mary Choy and John J. Markulis.
