Designer, selfless, kooky & cutie are just a few ways to describe our beautiful Courtney. Courtney Rose Ferrara Wilhelm will be remembered by all who have known her long after her passing.

Courtney fought hard and strong against her cancer. On Wednesday September 14th at 4:30 PM Courtney and her cancer tied. Surrounded by family and friends she was not alone during this final moment. Never wanting to be told the odds, Courtney and everyone around her knew that if anyone could beat this aggressive disease it would be her. And though they tied in our physical world, Courtney was ultimately the true champion as she did not allow this disease to run her life and alter who she truly was.

Courtney Rose Ferrara was born on January 12th, 1995 at Rochester General Hospital at 10:45 AM. Living in Mendon, Courtney went to Pittsford Mendon schools where she found her love for tennis, design and performing with her dear friends in the Odyssey of the Mind Competition. After high-school Courtney attended Alfred University where she continued her passion for design, graduating cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.

While attending Alfred in her sophomore year, Courtney attended a marketing club that needed designers. While at the meeting, Courtney met Colton Wilhelm, her future husband who noticed her the moment she walked into the room. On their first date, Courtney mentioned her love for football and Star Wars; they bonded instantly. After college, she accepted a job designing for a music retailer in Albany, NY combining her love for art and music.

On June 28th, 2020 Courtney hiked to the top of Whiteface Mountain with Colton, the love of her life. While looking at the view from a secluded summit, she was surprised when she turned around to find him on his knee asking her to make him the happiest man in the world.. On August 20, 2022 Courtney said “I do” and became Courtney Rose Ferrara Wilhelm making her husband the happiest man in the universe.

Courtney loved designing, art and cooking amazing meals with her husband who often referred to her as the “sauce queen”. But most importantly, Courtney deeply loved her husband, family and friends. She continued to worry more about them than herself, right until the very end. Courtney will not only be survived by her husband Colton, her father Paul, her mother Lisa, and brother Alex, all her beloved cousins, Aunts, Uncles, her dear friends (old and new), but everyone that was lucky enough to be touched by her.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday October 15, 2022 at the Grand View Lodge in Powder Mill Park, 49 Woolston Road, Pittsford, NY 14534 CLICK FOR MAP.

In lieu of flowers Colton, Lisa & Paul request supporting the 13thirty Cancer Connect Organization that Courtney loved, participated and supported throughout the past year.
