Joyce Ann (Kaiser) Holter, age 94, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2022, at Rush Mendon Place.
She was predeceased by Jack, her loving husband of over 68 years. She is survived by children, Dawn (Dave) Emery and Reid (Lynne) Holter; grandchildren, Kristen (Ben) Willmott, Stacey (Mike) Casella, Tyler Emery (Kalina Neal), Tara (Nick Nelson) Holter, Kyle Holter and Julia Holter; and great-grandchildren, Liv, Ave, Emmy, Charlie, and Auggie. She is also survived by sisters Iva (Charlie) Eikner and Kay Perrine.
Joyce was born on October 28, 1927. She was a graduate of Pittsford High School, and the University of Rochester. She met Jack on the tennis courts there, and they began a life of family, fun, fitness and hard work. She loved sports – playing and watching – and rarely missed a game, concert or musical involving one of her children, grandchildren, and eventually great-grandchildren. She worked side by side with Jack at the company they founded, and she was an integral part of its success.
Joyce dedicated her life to her husband Jack, and their family. She could often be seen walking with him on the Canal Path or down Log Cabin Road. They enjoyed tennis, skiing, golf, ping pong, bridge, sailing, travelling and even foosball. She will be remembered for her laugh, her loving hugs, and her never-ending support of family. She was proud to be a tough farm girl, and she was ahead of her time in her dedication to health and fitness (Jack LaLanne and the Royal Canadian Air Force Exercise Plan). She lived a good life and will be dearly missed.
Our heartfelt thanks to Rush Mendon Place for their kindness and care over the last few months, and especially their willingness to dance with Joyce at any moment.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
