Rochester – Gordon Bowling, 71 of Rochester, NY was taken into the arms of Jesus on September 28, 2020 after a long illness.
Born in Chicago, IL the son of John and Jeane (Roberts) Bowling. He worked at Valley Manor Independent Living for more than 30 years and retired in 2018.
Gordon was a wonderful example of being a dedicated and devoted husband. After the death of his wife, Star Bowling he continued to wear his wedding band. He also continued to share memories they made with his friends.
Gordon was a long term member at Pittsford Baptist Church, now Northfield Church and was dedicated to going to church to worship Jesus faithfully. While most would question driving to church in bad weather, he rode his bike over 10 miles, even in bad weather to attend services.
Gordon had a unique ability to recall the words and tune for almost any song, from the early 1960’s to the late 1970’s.
He is survived by his brothers, Gregory and John Bowling. Three nephews, Todd, Chad and Jason Bowling. Two nieces, Jessica Maurice and Jennifer Bowling along with 5 grand nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours. Private Funeral Service. Entombment White Haven Memorial Park.
