Walter R. Bittner of Rush, New York

Walter R. Bittner, age 90, passed on December 2, 2020. Born on April 2, 1930, Walt was the only child of Walter L. (Edna – step-mother) Bittner and Bernice (Trew) Bittner. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 62 years, Barbara (Dick) Bittner. He is survived by his children, Susan (Tim) Mee, Nancy (Ed Mullen) Flood, Tom Bittner; grandchildren, Daniel (Julia) Flood, Eric (Colleen) Flood, Rachel (Jon) Mee Carmody, Amanda (Bill Davin) Mee, Kacie (Sean Hackel) Bittner, Colby Bittner; and great-grandson, Jackson Flood. His beloved pets, Daisy, who had recently passed, and Duke, both Pugs, brought him much joy.
Walt was a long-time employee of the Eastman Kodak Company, retiring in 1984 after 34 years of service. Walt’s wife and family were everything to him and his entertaining stories were especially enjoyed by his grandchildren. As a husband, father and grandfather, he was beyond compare and always had a smile, joke and words of wisdom for everyone.
Funeral Services will be held privately, those wishing to watch the “Live Stream” of the funeral service may visit Walt’s memorial page on the funeral home website to view the service on Monday, December 7th at 11AM.

Interment will be held privately in the Rush Pine Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association,  25 Circle St, Rochester, NY 14607 Donate Online, the Alzheimer’s Association, 435 East Henrietta Road, Rochester, New York 14620 Donate Online or the Rush Historical Society, 5977 East Henrietta Road, Rush, NY 14543 in his memory.
