James Lorenz Rodman

July 25, 1934 – June 22, 2024

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of James Lorenz Rodman, who passed away peacefully at home on June 22, 2024, at the age of 89.

Jim was born on July 25, 1934, in Rochester, NY, to loving parents Lorenz and Mary Rodman. He was the cherished husband of 67 years to his wife, Beverly Rodman. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Sheryll and James.

Jim graduated from Brighton High School and worked as a professional firefighter at the Brighton Fire Department until retiring in the mid-1980s. He also served in the Army National Guard for many years and founded Rodman Custom Irrigation, which he owned for 50 years. His dedication to helping others and his outgoing personality, left a lasting impact on his colleagues and the industry.

Jim had a passion for the outdoors and loved spending time hunting and fishing with family and friends. He was an avid gardener, always growing various vegetables, while his wife Beverly tended to their home’s beautiful flower beds.

He is survived by his beloved wife Beverly, his children Sheryll (Eric) DeGraff and James Rodman.; his grandchildren Hannah (Charles) Giarrizzo and Molly (Brian) Burley, great grandchildren Nora Burley and Arlo Giarrizzo and his sister Janice Bushnell. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Lorenz and Mary Rodman.

Service will be private for close family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association in Jim’s memory. CLICK HERE to donate online.

Jim’s warmth, wisdom, and generosity touched the lives of many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
